SPREAD RAIN ACROSS THE SOUTHERN HALF OF THE FORECAST AREA ON
SUNDAY…WITH LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN POSSIBLE ALONG THE BIG SUR COAST
AND IN THE SANTA LUCIA MOUNTAINS….

.DISCUSSION…AS OF 3:25 AM PST SATURDAY…KMUX RADAR IS
CURRENTLY OUT OF SERVICE…AWAITING PARTS TO REPAIR IT. EARLIEST
IT COULD BE REPAIRED WOULD BE THIS AFTERNOON.”

  1. Almost a quarter inch at PV School
…More to come with tomorrow’s weather “event”.

When I drove my town run yesterday and today, I saw how many potentially active slides there are from Limekiln to Fuller’s. The numerous gullies (and a lot of them new for this year) are already opened up clear of stable topsoill and plant cover. Rocks are barely holding on the edge, and plenty of mud is available, ready to go! CALTRANS is out in force, doing their best, but expect it to be dangerous when the the runoff from the over-saturated walls high above the road starts coming down. It’ll be carrying a lot of BIG loose rocks and not to mention the MUD! Plan accordingly!
